{"id":206,"date":"2026-09-15T04:24:48","date_gmt":"2026-09-15T04:24:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sarmc.us\/?p=206"},"modified":"2026-09-15T04:24:48","modified_gmt":"2026-09-15T04:24:48","slug":"starting-to-feel-like-a-boat-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sarmc.us\/?p=206","title":{"rendered":"Starting to Feel Like a Boat Again"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now that I&#8217;m getting <strong>La Sirena actually ready to go \u2014 and ready to live aboard \u2014<\/strong> the jobs are starting to feel a little different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;ve repaired a leaking hot-water pipe feeding the galley sink and also fixed a small <strong>diesel leak in the fuel line feeding the engine<\/strong>. Both are exactly the sort of things I&#8217;d much rather discover here in the boatyard than once we&#8217;re underway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>cockpit covers and dodgers<\/strong> that I removed and cleaned are going back on. Some of the clear window panels have definitely seen better days, so I&#8217;ll be sourcing replacement clear material and repairing those.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;ve done another <strong>grocery run for the boat<\/strong>, and the refrigerator is finally starting to look like a refrigerator rather than another empty storage locker. I&#8217;m still waiting for the new thermostat, but it&#8217;s working and keeping things cold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Perhaps the biggest change is simply that the <strong>cockpit is getting tidier<\/strong>.
